Why & Outcome

“The same things won that will always win.”

The best way to get toughness, commitment, discipline, attitude, & effort.
    Integrity, trust, & respect.

“If there was a better way to be doing it, we would already be doing it”

    Brad Stanfield

My life has been all about developing the person.

Not the highlight. The week that made the highlight possible.

    20+ years in rooms.

20+ years in rooms. Five-year-olds through men signing contracts.

Davis Webb said I was the best coach he has ever had. That is his sentence, not mine.

Keelon Russell won the starting job at Alabama as a redshirt freshman. We started the day after spring ball.

Jalen Milroe. Jarrett Stidham. Sam Ehlinger. Clayton Tune. Cade Klubnik. The work was the same job at every level: what he already owns, what is next, who he is to the people around him.

At Spring Westfield under Matt Meekins (brother - Corby), the QBs moved on and the staff produced NFL position coaches. I was in that building. Roman Chin from that staff is with the Steelers now. That is the standard I came up in - the room, not the press conference.

Every quarterback I had in the Trinity League in Southern California went on to play in college. That was not a brochure. That was Friday nights and parents who stayed.

    How I Got Here

    Same dirt. Different job.

My father, Jimmy Wilson Stanfield, president of youth sport org in our home town. He came from a football family, instead of the railroad with his brother, or college football with his other brother Ron, he turned to processing. He ran the data room for nearly thirty years. The Cotton gin in Prattville, that was founded upon. Desk stacked. He listened to everything and answered in three sentences. He did not teach me what to think. He taught me how to process.

I grew up next to my brother. His heart was good then and it is good now. The school did not know what to do with how he learned, so they set him aside. The same people who knew our family knew him. They knew the heart. I watched what a system does when it will not meet a kid where he is. I never put that down.

My godbrother Zac Woodfin came up in that same town, with those same people. He played. He stayed in the work. He directs sports performance for the Tennessee Titans. Different job. Same dirt. We coached together at Alabama Saban’s 1st year after his stint playing NFL football.

Bachelor of Science in Education, Human Performance, University of Alabama. Master’s in Education. Texas certified: Business 6-12, PE, Special Education EC-12.

I was a student assistant and unpaid graduate assistant. So yes a Volunteer. Always looking to see how the systems ran and how I could support. Learn. Add value. Tuscaloosa in 2007-2008. Strength staff. FCA. Field work. NFL guys coming back to train. The floor. I was not in the inner circle. I was in the work. Where I saw a true freshman lead from day 1. A senior check him that everyone respected. The response? Freshman All-American. A QB that bought in. A QB that needed to find tools to be Clear. An organism that grew. A point system with red or green and no yellow on the wall to the weight room. Outcomes as by product. A standard. Make them quit. No scoreboard. See the whole. Do your job. Defined. Build. Own.

Then I chose five years full-time with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes instead of a faster coaching ladder. Development. Alignment. Search. Serve. Purpose. Southern California. Raised my own funding. Opened North Orange County. Built an advisory board. Managed six-figure budgets. Promoted to lead in Texas. Classroom by day. Quarterback room after. Youth to pro. 15 years. 20+ total. That is the boot print.

    What I Believe

The same things that won will always win.

Toughness. Commitment. Discipline. Attitude. Effort. Trust. Respect. Jesus.

There is a difference between getting better and owning it.

    You are your job first.

    Outcome

He stays healthy. He wins plays. He grades higher every week.

What he was taught is still there when it gets loud. He knows what he owns, and what is next.

The people around him are working from the same picture.

    Connect. Retain. Confidence. Own. Freedom.

Then you can walk into the room.

The skill is there. The whole person isn't. That is the gap I built this for.
